I've asked you in the first message, =)) on what terminals exactly does
this problem appear? If only in xterm, there's a known xterm bug, that
makes it to interprete some symbols (i.e. from any app) as
command-sequences.
Anyway, be more concrete. Tell us about those ``many factors''.
