Hello.

Some times I get into trouble reading mail on console/via ssh with
gnus when I get CJK spam, mostly it is Korean, even I do not want to
hurt anyone.

The problem is that their hieroglyphs, when they appear in summary,
make gnus, you will laugh, to put email address of current From to
bbdb.

Is there any way to suppress this behaviour?

I can supply couple of examples of such messages.

BTW, can I, while writing a message, attach another, from one of my
groups, to it?

Thanks,

What terminals do you use exactly? And, if I got it, this problem does
not appear in X Window, yes?

Yes, supply, please. I remember nothing similar here.

A workarond may be to file all cjk mail to another folder (and revisit
it carefully) or delete it -- if you don't communicate to anyone using
cjk, of course. =))

Does it help to use C-x RET t to tell Emacs about the encoding that
your terminal uses? Maybe that helps Emacs to protect itself.

It does not (I've selected cyrillic-koi8).

The problem can be easily reproduced the following way:

1. run emacs -nw -f gnus in xterm with ru_RU.KOI8-R locale with the
   folowing bbdb configuration:
;; bbdb
(require 'bbdb)
(bbdb-initialize 'gnus 'message)

2. Add the attached file as a foreign mailbox froup (G f)

This can depends on many factors. To be more concrete: I have this
trouble on Debian at least for a half of year. I use gnu emacs.
There is no such problem on console. I am not able to test with rxvt.

PS Could you, please, not mailing me answers twice, directly and
through the mailing list. It is almost impossible to suppress these
duplicated mails using IMAP.

PPS If someone know, how it can be done easily, I will be happy to
know.

I've asked you in the first message, =)) on what terminals exactly does
this problem appear? If only in xterm, there's a known xterm bug, that
makes it to interprete some symbols (i.e. from any app) as
command-sequences.

Anyway, be more concrete. Tell us about those ``many factors''.

In this message I'll do it. But no further. info://message/Mailing+Lists

If for some reason you don't want to include MFT, ``Mail-Copies-To:
never'' should work as well, assuming all people here use Gnus.
