Hi,
just start writing some message and store it into drafts. Then go the drafts
group and press `e' to edit the draft. The message is then displayed in
\202-mode :-) For clarification, this mail is also stored in the drafts, but
only one letter from signature (which contains ISO-8859-2 character í) is
stored as two byte-sequence. But when it is displayed for editing in drafts
group, the \202\xxx appears instead í.

Hi,
I'm replying to my message, because this problem is probably connected with
that one:

The only thing I did now is saved the draft and edit it again and got this

It is not a bug. In drafts group, the messages are stored in a
internal coding-system, emacs-mule for Emacs and escape-quoted for
XEmacs, therefore, you may see \202 when you press `e'.
To edit a draft, you should use `D e' instead.

Hi,
> To edit a draft, you should use `D e' instead.
in fact, I did, but D runs
D runs the command gnus-summary-mark-as-read-backward
which is an interactive compiled Lisp function in `gnus-sum'.
(gnus-summary-mark-as-read-backward N)
even in summary of drafts group. So I pressed D e which is e (I had only one
draft there) :-( I do not have any key-customization of Gnus now.

There is some magic in the group parameters of the drafts group:
(gnus-dummy (gnus-draft-mode))
The parens might be different. Try `G p' on your drafts group. If
these are missing, you can remove the drafts group, exit Gnus, start
Gnus, and you'll get a fresh drafts group.

hmm, this corrects my problem. There was nil as group parameters only. But how
did it happen?

That's crock! Either `e' should do proper conversion, or it should be
disabled altogether. (Or it should merely call `D e'.)

Now fixed. I think `e' is useful to edit a queued message.

`e' still doesn't work right for Japanese messages in the `drafts'
group. It usually distroys them completely.
`D e' works correctly though, therefore it looks like `e' doesn't just
call `D e' currently.
Some time ago `e' worked even for Japanese, therefore I thought it had
been fixed, but now it is broken again.
This isn't much of a problem, I just have to remember never to use `e'
in the `drafts' group.

It should work now. But `D e' is suggested.

Yes, it works now. Thank you Shenghuo.

Does this also happen when you use `D e' to edit the draft?
