(I'm sending to ding@sina.hpc.uh.edu until the DNS updates spread.)

And that something else is t-shirts.

No, I haven't gotten around to doing that Visa thaaang, but if we're
going to wait until I get my ass in gear, the summer (and I'm not
saying which summer) will already be over, so I'll do it the
old-fashioned way.

Now, I haven't decided on color or anything yet, but it'll be a (ding)
Gnus commemorative t-shirt; released on July 26th, for obvious¹
reasons. Since all the other things have been dark, I think this one
should be light. Primarily white, with black printing; back and
front.

Let's see... They have black, white, orange, blue, green, yellow,
red, ash, off-black, and marine. I think the only useful colors are
white, orange, blue, green, yellow, and red.

The price will be the same as the first t-shirts, only cheaper, since
the NOK has sunk in value. I'll have to do some calculations on
postage and stuff, though.

I'll set up a web page with pictures of the design, as well as
complete info. Perhaps I should set up a "'reserve' that size and
color for me?" type thing as well? Uhm. No, I think that'll just be
more confusing.

The first (ding) release was on December 11, 1994.

(gnus-days-between "Jul 26 06:32:40 1998" "Sun Dec 11 06:32:40 1994")
=> 1323

That's a nice, round number. Hm. Perhaps in some other radix...

----------
¹) For some values of.

So this looks like what's the prices are going to be, but I'll have to
double-check with the post office whether the postage prices really
remain the same.

Price per t-shirt: US$ 11

Postage per t-shirt ordered:

                        Ground mail Air mail
Scandinavia $2 $2
Europe $2 $4
Everywhere else $3 $5

Packing per order: US$ 1.

I'm wearing one of the shirts now, and they are very light and thin.
The neck line thing (collar? not really) is one of those double-backed
things, so they look like they are a bit more sturdy in that
department than the September Gnus t-shirts, which frayed a bit after
using it a while.

Hi,

Could you please give us the prices in NOK when the time comes as I'd
like to send a Eurocheque.

Thanks.

What about sizes? Could some size `XXL' shirts be ordered for

I'm wearing an XL/XXL (and that's the biggest available size they
have), and it's long enough, but not very wide over the shoulders (or
anywhere else), I'm afraid.

<URL:http://www.gnus.org/dgcts/ding.html> now has all the details and
stuff, so one can now order.

Multiply dollar prices with 7.6 to get NOK.

Perhaps I could enquire after some really-really big ones? They would
probably be more expensive, but I'll look into it on monday.

The one I'm wearing now reaches past my crotch, and I'm 1.94m. But
scrawny. So I think that someone who has actual muscles and is the
same height might feel a bit cramped. Perhaps.

I've been getting that for about a day now.

No gnus.org.

Due to the DNS changeover, things are a bit out of whack.

Try this instead:

Well, I'm just over 2.00m, and last time I bought an overcoat I need a 52
(chest) extra-long. That's what I get for having really tall people on my
dad's side and my mother's father was built like a canadian football
player. :)

Made for an interesting mix in my little sister. She had one hell of a
right cross. :)

It is working now. All other gnus.org stuff should be back to

1) So, uh, what happened to the mugs?

2) I thought that on your birthday you were supposed to *get*

3) I was thinking for the next release of gnus (which should be
pgnus), we should call it "psychedelic gnus", and then we could
have the gnus logo change to a random color every time its started
up ;-) Then you could send out tie-tyed tee shirts ;-)

I refuse to order a T-shirt unless it contains the phrase

As I have never seen a large hobbit, certainly not in scandinavia, and
-apart from Tolkien's drawings- wasn't ever able to see a small hobbit
as well, I guess it would be a benefit to the whole Hobbit fan-society to
finally see one on a foto :)

Then you'll have to walk around bare-chested until next summer.

What happened to the mugs? Being a certifiable caffeine addict, I was
hoping for a nice mug.

I meant to do the mugs this winter, but then it became summer.
Perhaps the next winter?

It's a little harder to tell the seasons in southern California. Walk
outside in shorts and a tank-top, barefooted to see what the weather
is like, then come back inside and find a calendar to see what month
it is. :-) Keeps us on our toes ...

Up north where I come from, they have summer... maybe I should just
pack up and go home?

Longyearbyen on Svalbard (ie. "Spitzbergen") had a higher temperature
than Oslo yesterday.

By your definition it's summer in Denmark more than 11 months a year.
I'm not sure my mind can deal with that concept.
