I think there is a line missing in https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/blob/master/srcpkgs/syncthing/template in the `post_install()` part where there should be a `vsv syncthing`

Or am I wrong here and should I install another package @Duncaen ?
Happy to make a PR, but not sure this is the issue.

Ok. of course it should be started as the user and not system-wide I just realized.
There is a desktop file or I can install a service as user per https://docs.voidlinux.org/config/services/user-services.html
I will close this. Sorry.
