Hi,

I have noticed an issue on 5.2 which is not present on 5.0. I tested it on macOS Sierra (zsh installed view homebrew) and on Debian 8 (zsh built from source).

The problem is with the vcs_info module. I set nvcsformats like

zstyle ':vcs_info:*' nvcsformats "%~" ""

which should make $vcs_info_msg_0_ return the current working directory after vcs_info is called. I do it in a similar way for formats like

zstyle ':vcs_info:*' formats "%S" "${path_color}%r/"

which works without a problem inside a git repository. Outside a git repository (where nvcsformats should be used) $vcs_info_msg_0_ is empty. This has worked (ie $vcs_info_msg_0_ was set to "%~") before and it is still working on that debian machine with zsh from the debian-repository (which is 5.0.7).

Is this new or a known issue?
