are you sure it's a c&t 6900, not a c&t 69000?
the hiqvideo driver handles the 69000, but has only been
tried with a real monitor, not an lcd.

Nobody has responded to my message. I think a video driver has to be written
for that chip. I haven't looked into that and won't be able to for a while.
Yes. I think the worst you can do by trying different plan9.ini options is blow
out the video.

Good luck getting it up.

I would like to get my ct6900 up. It has pretty much the same specs. I
am very new at p9 though. I will start trying things. Thanks for the
impetus. All I can do is blow the video out, right?

I am trying to install plan9 on a Toshiba Sattellite 4015CDS. I had problems
with aux/vga and was left in rc. I suspect that the problem is in with the
CT65555 video chip. I tried adding

	0xC0090="TOSHIBA Video BIOS V1.80"		# Toshiba 4015CDS

below the

	0xC0090="CHIPS 65550 PCI & VL Accelerated VGA BIOS"	# NEC Versa 6030X/6200MX

line. The 65550 chip is supported but not the 65555. I got a

aux/vga: hiqvideo: DID 00E5 unsupported

error. The specs for the 65555 are on http://www.asiliant.com/65555.htm. The
Adding a New VGA Controller section, VGADB(6), looks beyond me. Has anyone else
added or looked at adding support for the Toshiba Sattelites, especially ones
with the CT65555 chip?

Mark

I attached my plan9.ini and vgainfo.txt. The vgainfo.txt is the one before I
added the line to vgadb, because it looked more informative.
