I'm sure it's just because of the general popularity of "sockets"
programming that makes it easier for me to visualize how one program
connects to another and then talks across that connection.

With sockets this seems very explicit... perhaps too explicit?

I've really not dug in deep into 9P2000 to really appreciate why this is
better yet I guess.

I have to learn more about channels and cloning in general to really "get
it" I guess.
