I have made an attempt to handle the AMDtek chip found in the
Linksys LNE100TX Etherfast 10/100 series of LAN Cards. I have a ver 5.1
card (newly purchased from CompUSA), I'd be interested to know if older
versions work.

The driver is available on sources.

The chip on the board says:

Linksys
LNE100TX Version 4.1
LNE110TX Version 4.1

This is your ethenet controller. It has vendor (0x1317)
and device (0985) IDs which we don't recognise. Do you know
who the chip manufacturer is?

I've successfully installed P9 from the latest ISO, but have not been able
to get it to use my network card, a Linksys Etherfast 10/100 PCI card.

I added the line:

ether0=type=ec2t

to plan9.ini and uncommented the DHCP config lines in /rc/bin/termrc.

I also tried setting the ether type to 2114x as suggested in earlier posts,
but w/out success: ip/ipconfig complains on boot that /net/ether0 doesn't
exist.

Ideas? Or, assuming this card is unsupported, recommendations for
inexpensive Ethernet cards known to work?

Thanks,

    John
