I'm kinda thinking along the lines of
<URL:http://www.ifi.uio.no/~larsi/www.gnus.org/cups/cup.ps>. Or
summink.

<URL:http://www.ifi.uio.no/~larsi/www.gnus.org/cups/> has the LaTeX
file and the logo. Design the cup yourself! UUencode and mail me the
resulting PostScript file (or whatever), and I'll put it up for
viewing in the same directory.

Go wild!

Design specs? Uhm... one color, or two colors if needed. Printing
all the way around (almost) is possible. I don't have a height/width
spec yet.

Ok, I can't stand it anymore --- I have to ask this: What the heck is the
meaning of `In a cloud bones of steel'? There is some meaning, isn't it?

It is the Gnus motto.

It is also the entirety of a poem entitled "Bridge" by Charles Reznikoff.

In a cloud bones of steel.

Er, Aug 31 1894 - Jan 22 1976 surely :-)

Since I seem to recall Lars has said that "In a cloud, bones of steel"
is an entire short poem by someone, I'd assume those dates were birth
and death days of said poet. What do I win?

The first is obvious. If we release on 15 Decemeber, it implies that it
has been in development for 1000 years.

The second is a reference to my great-grandfather. I am touched Lars.

Anyway, I think that we should rush and deliver on 23 October. Then we
can call it SextiMillennium Gnus.

By the way, I work across the street from the Millenium Hotel [sic].
For $200/night, they could have at least hired a proof-reader.

Yeh. To celebrate the fact that on the 15th of December 1997 it's
*exactly* 1000 years since one thousand years ago.

But perhaps we shouldn't look back, but look towards the future
instead. By some weird coinkidink, the 15th of December is also the
date it's 1000 years until one thousand years into the future, so
perhaps the date should read 19971215-29971215 instead? «The new
millennium starts now».

Yay! I claim my [insert suitable prize here].

<URL:http://hallux.medschool.hscbklyn.edu/~mikla/polar.html> says:

			If There is a Scheme

              If there is a scheme,
perhaps this too is in the scheme,
as when a subway car turns on a switch,
the wheels screeching against the rails,
and the lights go out -
but are on again in a moment.

              Charles Reznikoff (1894-1976)

Incidentally[1], Reznikoff has a poem published in a book called "Poems
for the Millennium". Creepy.

Meanwhile, back in 1997, I found qgnus 0.11 to be a real bugger to get
to work with emacs 19.33!

Process:
	unpack and compile custom
make dgnushack.el aware of the fact
	rename custom's lpath.el to lpath.el.tmp
	unpack and compile qgnus 0.11
	rename custom's lpath.el.tmp to lpath.el

*Surely* this process could be cleaned up a bit?

Custom doesn't need lpath except for compiling itself, so the last
step is unnecessary. I don't see any reason why qgnus should need
lpath at all, it looks to me like it is a relic from the distant age
where custom was bundled with gnus.

Just copy {cus, wid}*.el into the qgnus-0.*/lisp directory. It builds
fine there. No tweaking dgnushack, or anything else.

Wow. Lars, maybe that should be the "official" advice? I don't know
about cleanliness, but it looks much simpler for a casual user?

Yeah, but it would require the user to do the copy for each and every
installation of Quassia.
