Since I'm a non-Debian user, I'm not sure what the analog to "apt-get"
and "apt-cache" would be for me (RedHat 8.0). I guess that what you're
saying is that I need to install all standard(?) fonts whose names start
with the string "xfonts", but not anything whose name contains the
string "xfonts-bochs".
Fair enough, but are there any fonts in particular that I should have?
At the moment, it will probably be easier for me to locate specific
fonts than to do the kind of global search-and-installation that you
suggested.
Of course, I could always just switch to Debian :) ...
