The problem I have is with the picons network retreival in Gnus. It hangs and never retreive anything. Without any former queries to w3, I was expecting to be asked for the proxy password by gnus (or w3) for the first picons retreival, but nothing happens. Could you set debug-on-quit and see where it is hanging when you interrupt the picons stuff? -bp ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 3+ messages in thread

But after further investigation, it seems that the problem is elsewhere: my sysadmin filters out some sites known to send ads images, and the picons site seems to be one of them :-( It's replaced by a random local image and thus the proxy services are not required. What gave me the impression that the retreival was hanging is that Andy's progress gauge never goes away... -- / / _ _ Didier Verna http://www.inf.enst.fr/~verna/ - / / - / / /_/ / EPITA / LRDE mailto:didier@epita.fr /_/ / /_/ / /__ / 14-16 rue Voltaire Tel. +33 (1) 44 08 01 77 94276 Kremlin-Bicêtre cedex Fax. +33 (1) 44 08 01 99 ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 3+ messages in thread
