Wonderful. I love both Tolkien and Plan 9 very much.
I would like to write the following infamous verse in
the elvish font.

Three syncs for the fixed disks under the SCSI,
Seven for the inetds of their ports of echo,
Nine for Mortal Processes doomed to die,
One for the Dark Init on his endless wait
In the Land of Lunix where the PCs lie.

Maybe you misunderstood (although there a quite a few things wrong with me)

An Indian giver is one who says he will give you something and then
takes it back.

I thougt the prospect of one of those was genuine before the "client
license" part.

I was also using it as a play on words seeing as it was from the Apache.

what is wrong with you? given the us military already has this
technology why should it be re-invented?

oh, i know why, it would justify lunix.

i have CAT-I night vision and it's damn impressive. you go
for CAT-II or CAT-III and 'a world of pain' is just the beginning.

nope, no silver Bindis. i want lasers and acurracy and it would really mess
up those 'mouse in window' focus policies.

Has anyone else seen one of these devices?
http://orin.com/access/headmouse/index.htm

Basically you put a silver dot sticker on your forhead, and as you move
your head, appropriate mouse movements are made. I saw this on a Windows
box several years ago, but according to their site, it emulates standard
mouse protocols, so I don't see why it wouldn't work on a Plan 9 box.

So, instead of getting "gorilla arm", one can look forward to "gorilla neck"
and a nice side career as a linebacker or bouncer?

I mistranslated jmk's. 'teenei whakarongo mai' means

ahh, but the AH-64 pilots are trained to have binocular vision, so
your left eye is free to look at whatever it likes :)

Count me out:
an attractive person of appropriate gender walks past
and your cursor jams against the side of the screen.
(Especially tedious if a mouse button is down at the time).

These kind of things (interfaces based directly on sensory organs)
are only appropriate in specific contexts;
in the real world, you want artifical interfaces,
so that you can still interface with the real world.
(Well, maybe not all of us).

That's one reason why speech recognition is not very successful:
you have to disable it when the 'phone rings.
