Ye gods. I was blinded. I reverted changes. I know that
nnimap-split-inbox is history.
I could cry.
Thank you so much. I'd been looking so long I missed the most obvious
issue. One I only recently raised as a documentation error in the oracle
section of the Gnus manual too!
