It saves pointless work and a small amount of article size, and it makes
it less likely that news readers will get confused by incorrect Lines
headers.  The header is completely, 100% worthless.

All that information comes from the overview data, which is guaranteed to
be correct.  There's no such guarantee for the Lines header, and you'll
still be able to do all these things without that header.
